聚酯纤维具有较高的强度与弹性恢复能力，因此坚牢耐用、抗皱免烫。它的耐光性较好，除比腈纶差外，其耐晒能力胜过天然纤维织物，尤其是在玻璃后面的耐晒能力很好，几乎与腈纶不相上下。另外聚酯面料耐各种化学品性能良好，酸、碱对其破坏程度都不大，同时不怕霉菌，也不怕虫蛀。
