1、 改善高温稳定性,提高高温稳定度由于聚酯纤维单丝的三维立体分布,同时与沥青具有很强的吸附性,且不缠绕,可以吸附过多的自由沥青,使沥青的粘稠度和粘聚力增大,同时由于纵横交错的加筋和桥接作用,降低了沥青的流动性能,限制了集料的侧向位移或流动,有效的改善了高温稳定性,使纤维沥青混凝土的稳定度得到很大提高。

2、 改善低温抗裂性,纤维对沥青的吸附作用,导致沥青混凝土中最佳沥青用量增加,较高的沥青含量,使纤维沥青混合料在-40℃的低温下仍然保持柔韧性和较高的抗拉强度,有效的抵抗收缩应力,使混合料的低温抗裂性能增强,减少温缩裂缝的产生以及可以防止反射裂缝的发展。

3、改善抗疲劳性能沥青路面在外界气温环境作用下,经受车轮荷载的反复作用,当荷载重复作用超过一定的次数后,在荷载作用下路面内产生的应力就会超过强度下降的结构抗力,使路面出现裂纹,导致产生疲劳断裂破坏,掺加聚酯纤维后,纤维单丝在混合料中的均匀分布的加筋作用,使其劲度模量增加,改善沥青混凝土的抗疲劳性能。

4、提高水稳定性沥青路面的水稳性是指沥青路面在水存在的条件下,经受交通荷载和温度涨缩的反复作用。聚酯纤维的加入,使沥青膜增厚,使水置换沥青的强度减小,以及水分渗入沥青混凝土量的减少,再加上纤维的吸附作用使沥青的粘滞度变大,提高了沥青与集料的粘结作用力,加强沥青混合料中沥青与集料形成的界面膜抵抗水分剥离作用的能力,从而提高了沥青混合料的水稳定性。
